Pageant Practice Dates:
(Dates and time are subject to change.)

Only two practices may be missed.  The Queen’s Tea and Fun At The Fair Day are not considered practices so they will not be counted as part of the two missed practices.  If you see that you are going to have a conflict – please call the Directors to see if arrangements can be made.

THURSDAY , July 16 – 6:00 – 9:30 p.m.

Georgetown Fair Banquet and Conference Center – Fair Grounds

Application Review 

Clothing Overview with Handout

Gowns, swimsuits, business suits, jewelry, shoes for rent.  

Past Queens will have clothing and accessories on display to try on for rental at a minimal charge.  RENTAL AGREEMENTS ARE WITH INDIVIDUALS AND NOT WITH THE PAGEANT. Anything  lost, stolen, or damaged is not the responsibility of the pageant or directors.  The Pageant Directors can give names/phone numbers of outside rental possibilities but the contestant is responsible for contacting the individual and retrieving/returning items.

Pictures will be taken at the July 18th practice for newspapers and program.  

All contestants are asked to wear the black shirt provided with an appropriate skirt.  

No necklace, just earrings only.  

This will be a waist high shot so be prepared.

Plan to be at this practice, any contestant not photographed on or before this date 

will be listed in the newspaper and program as “NOT PICTURED”.

SATURDAY, July 18 – 9:00 am – 12:00   (Practice will last until 12:00 but if you have not interviewed you will stay until completed.)  

MOCK INTERVIEWS – Each contestant will have a designated time for mock interview.  Actual 4-Minute Taped Interview with a panel of 3 judges.  Wear the Black shirt provided with any appropriate skirt.  Arrive no more than 5 minutes before your allotted time.  No other days or times will be set for Mock Interviews.  Please call if you are going to be delayed for any reason.

BRING A VCR TAPE.

At designated practices listed below the contestants will be split into three groups.  The groups rotate from these three stations:  1. Interview/Speech   2. Modeling   3. Dance

Contestants should bring heels for modeling to each practice.

MONDAY, July 20 – Monical’s Pizza Scholarship Fundraiser   

THIS IS NOT A PRACTICE 

Every contestant will be required to distribute 10 or more Monical’s Scholarship Fundraiser Coupons.  20% of all total purchases with coupons will be donated to the Pageant Scholarship Fund.   Just bring your family or carry out Monical’s Pizza at any Danville/Tilton location on this date only.  You may not stand outside or inside the restaurant and hand out coupons.

Coupon is Mandatory upon ordering or pickup IF CARRY OUT for us to receive the donation.

 

Tuesday, July 21 or Wednesday July 22– Each Contestant will have a Scheduled Time

MOCK INTERVIEW REVIEW – this is a one on one with the contestant.  If you have any questions ask at this time.  Clothing may be brought for review.

Each contestant will have an individual review and receive their VCR tape plus a written critique of their Mock interview.

PLEASE SCHEDULE ALTERATION APPOINTMENTS ACCORDINGLY!!

All contestants will be required to model their swimsuit and evening gown as a group and individually.  Pageant Directors reserve the right to reject any swimsuit or evening gown if it does not meet requirements.  

Alterations requested will require approval at a later date.

THURSDAY, July 30, – 6:15 p.m.

Fair Family Dinner – Contestants and their families are invited.  Practice on Stage after Dinner.  Parents are invited to stay for practice but if they do not stay, please make sure driving arrangements for contestants are made accordingly.  Wear nice sundress or skirt/blouse and remember it should not be too short or revealing.  Contestants will introduce themselves with hometown or school/grade (major if college) or where they are working.  There will be no time for changing clothes after the dinner before practice. NO VIDEO CAMERA’S ARE PERMITTED DURING PRACTICE (except for Queen Rachael)

Georgetown Fair Grounds

“FUN AT THE FAIR” Day

This is a fun day for the contestants to walk through the Fair Grounds – give out ribbons in the barns and talk with the exhibitors.  Each contestant will wear their t-shirt (tucked in) and long jean shorts or Capri pants with tennis shoes (sox if desired).  A Parent/guardian may attend and take pictures but the contestants are asked to stay together as a group.

It has been the practice of  the Georgetown Fair Queen to attend one event a month. Our reputation precedes us as being in the public eye as an ambassador for the Georgetown Fair.  As an ambassador, it is the job of the Georgetown Fair Queen to promote and encourage attendance and participation for the Georgetown Fair.
