LISTED BELOW WAS THE SCHEDULE FOR THE 2018 MISS GEORGETOWN FAIR PAGEANT.  THE SCHEDULE FOR THE 2019 PAGEANT WILL BE UPDATED IN THE MONTHS BEFORE THE PAGEANT.

SCHEDULE FOR THE 2018 MISS GEORGETOWN FAIR PAGEANT

(All designated locations are subject to change)

PLEASE NOTICE SOME PRACTICES ARE DESIGNATED “MANDATORY”.  THESE PRACTICES PROVIDE EXTREMELY INFORMATION THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS!  IF YOU HAVE AN EVENT THAT YOU CANNOT MISS ON THESE DAYS – WE WILL TRY TO WORK WITH YOU BUT REMEMBER HOW IMPORTANT EACH PRACTICE IS TO YOUR PAGEANT EXPERIENCE!!! 

EVENTS THAT THE CONTESTANTS HAVE BEEN INVITED TO ATTEND NEED EVERYONE IN ATTENDANCE!  THE EVENT HAS JOBS FOR THE CONTESTANTS AND WITHOUT EVERYONE THEY WILL BE SHORTHANDED SO PLEASE – MARK YOUR CALENDARS EARLY!

SUNDAY – JULY 1 – FIRST INFORMATIONAL MEETING – GEORGETOWN FAIRGROUNDS

 Tuesday – July 36:30:  Bring written, completed application form that was supplied in your packet.  Heels for modeling practice.   

WEDNESDAY- July 4 – PARADE:  MANDATORY FOR ALL CONTESTANTS:  Oakwood Independence Day Parade.  T-shirts will be provided, wear denim jeans or capri’s, tennis shoes for walking in the parade.  Hair in pony tail, bows will be provided.  Times TBA.

Saturday, July 7 – OFFICIAL PICTURES – MANDATORY!  Time TBA – Pictures will be taken for newspapers, advertising, and all pictures used for pageant use.  Our Photographers will ONLY BE PRESENT at this practice so PLEASE try to attend even if just for the picture!  

Monday – July 9 – 6:30 – Georgetown Fairgrounds – Pageant Practice – Paperwork due (ONLINE APPLICATION COMPLETED, Emergency Medical Form, Dental Form, Sponsorship Envelope and Form, Signature Sheet). Wear comfortable clothes and shoes – we will be dancing.  Clothing handout plus Queen Heather will be modeling business suit, swimsuit and evening gown to show do’s and don’ts for clothing.

Wednesday, July 11 – 6:30 – Georgetown Fairgrounds – Mock Interview Practice:  Modeling.                     Interview Handouts with practice.  Dance practice.                                                                                                     

Monday – July 16 – 6:30 – DACC Mary Miller Gym – Pageant PracticeSign up sheet for Mock Interviews.  MUST HAVE SPEECH WRITTEN!

Wednesday – July 18 – 6:30Iroquois County Pageant –  CONTESTANTS ENCOURAGED to ATTEND – Meet at Meijers – 6:00 – Dressed in Pageant T-Shirt and capri jeans, sandals.  Hair and Makeup done.  

 Thursday – July 19 – FAIRGROUNDS Official MOCK INTERVIEWS – Dress, heels, make up and hair for interview.  Arrive 10 minutes before sign up time – NO EARLIER!  Leave when interview has completed.  Danielle Sacre will be available for dance practice if  needed. This is an interview that will be just like your pageant interview with 3  judges 4 minutes long.   Interview will be recorded and sent to you via email.  Sign Up sheet for July 26-27.

JULY 23 – MONDAY – MANDATORY – AMBUCS CAMP –  Meet at McDonald’s south or at the GAO Grotto, 2400 Denmark Rd,  Danville.   Pageant T-Shirts, jean capris, tennis shoes.                                                                                  

Thursday or Friday  – July 26 or 27 – Each contestant will meet with Karen and Jill for 45 minutes.  Sign up will be for  ONE of the two days with assigned times for mock interview review (each contestant will receive a written review), Bring all clothing:  Evening Gown, Interview Suit, Swimsuit, speech will be given, any questions can be asked at this time.  Place TBA.

Thursday, August 2, 6:30 start time. Contestants should be there at 6:00Fair Family Dinner Georgetown Fairgrounds – Parents, Grandparents, Siblings invited to attend.  Arrive 6:00 and go to the back right corner of the building to get your Contestant Sash.  Tables on the back wall are reserved for Queen Contestants and their families.  Wear dress – no strapless or spaghetti straps, no less than 4 inches above knee, no plunging necklines.  Just make sure you can bend over and nothing is showing behind or in front as you will be reaching for plates and serving ice cream.  Dress conservatively! This is an important evening where you will meet Fair Board Members and it will your first time speaking as a contestant of the Georgetown Fair Pageant!  PLEASE PLAN ON ATTENDING!!                                                                                                          Practice on stage immediately after dinner – Guests may stay and watch but no videoing please. –

August 4 – 9:00 MANDATORY PAGEANT PRACTICE!!!!!!!  Complete run through of the pageant with the MC’s!  This is a very important practice for EVERYONE!!!  DO NOT MISS!!!!!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                

Sunday – August 5 – Walk Through The Fair 1:30 – This is a fun afternoon of walking through the barns, each contestant introducing herself in the Swine Barn, washing a cow, walking through the Home Ec Buildings. You get to ask questions, learn about the fairgrounds, and enjoy the behind the scenes of fair life!!                                                                         If parent/guardian accompanies for pictures, they must walk behind as the contestants will walk as a group.                              Wear T-shirt provided, jeans, boots if possible.                                                                                    

Sunday – August 5 – 4:00 – Ice Cream Social after the walk though the Fair – Contestants will serve ice cream/brownies.               

Monday, August 6 – 6:00 Pageant – Contestants must be in trailer by 5:30. Interview time will be decided after we have a number of contestants.
