SCHEDULE FOR THE 2019 MISS GEORGETOWN FAIR PAGEANT

Bring taupe shoes to every practice.

PLEASE NOTICE SOME PRACTICES ARE DESIGNATED “MANDATORY”.  THESE PRACTICES PROVIDE EXTREMELY INFORMATION THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS!  IF YOU HAVE AN EVENT THAT YOU CANNOT MISS ON THESE DAYS – WE WILL TRY TO WORK WITH YOU BUT REMEMBER HOW IMPORTANT EACH PRACTICE IS TO YOUR PAGEANT EXPERIENCE!!! 

EVENTS THAT THE CONTESTANTS HAVE BEEN INVITED TO ATTEND NEED EVERYONE IN ATTENDANCE!  THE EVENT HAS JOBS FOR THE CONTESTANTS AND WITHOUT EVERYONE we WILL BE SHORTHANDED SO PLEASE – MARK YOUR CALENDARS EARLY!

SUNDAY – JUNE 23 – FIRST INFORMATIONAL MEETING – GEORGETOWN FAIRGROUNDS

Tuesday – JuNE 26 – 6:30 – Fairgrounds.  Bring written, completed application form that was supplied in your packet.  Heels for modeling practice.

TUESDAY – JULY 2 – 6:30 – FAIRGROUNDS – SHIRTS will be distributed for the parade.    

WEDNESDAY- July 4 – PARADE:  MANDATORY FOR ALL CONTESTANTS:  Oakwood Independence Day Parade.  T-shirts will be provided, wear denim jeans or capri’s, tennis shoes for walking in the parade.  Hair in pony tail, bows will be provided.  You will park in the parking lot beside the Times TBA.

Saturday, July 6 – OFFICIAL PICTURES – MANDATORY!  Fairgrounds 9:00 – Pictures will be taken for newspapers, advertising, and all pictures used for pageant use.  Our Photographers will ONLY BE PRESENT at this practice so PLEASE try to attend even if just for the picture!   Fitted for opening number outfits. Practice after. Paperwork due(ONLINE APPLICATION COMPLETED, Emergency Medical Form, Dental Form, Sponsorship Envelope and Form, Signature Sheet).

Monday – July 8 – 6:30 – Georgetown Fairgrounds – Pageant Practice –Wear comfortable clothes and shoes – we will be dancing.  Clothing handout plus Queen Billi Jo will be modeling business suit, swimsuit and evening gown to show do’s and don’ts for clothing.

Wednesday, July 10 – 6:30 – Georgetown Fairgrounds – Mock Interview Practice:  Modeling.  Interview Handouts with practice.  Dance practice.                                                                                                     

Monday – July 15 – 6:30 – Georgetown Fairgrounds – Pageant Practice.  Sign up sheet for Mock Interviews.  MUST HAVE SPEECH WRITTEN!

Saturday – July 20 – 9:00 – FAIRGROUNDS Official MOCK INTERVIEWS –Dress, heels, make up and hair for interview. This is an interview that will be just like your pageant interview with 3  judges 4 minutes long.   Interview will be recorded and sent to you via email.  Sign Up sheet for July 26-27.  Round table Discussions.

JULY 22 – MONDAY – MANDATORY – AMBUCS CAMP Volunteers – Camp for any child or young adult ages 5-10. The campers have a specific disability: cognitive disability, orthopedic impairment, visually impaired, hearing impaired, multiple disabilities or Autism.  Your jobs are to help with games-jump houses, paint faces, play on playground equipment, paint t-shirts, help with lunch.  We will park your cars in the parking lot next to McDonald’s north – leaving at 8:30 for the Gao Grotto.   You can also meet us at the GAO Grotto, 2400 Denmark Rd,  Danville – be there at 8:45.  Pageant T-Shirts, jean capris, tennis shoes.  BE ON TIME – events are planned at the camp and we need to be there to help.                                                                                  

Thursday or Friday  – July 25 or 26 – Each contestant will meet individually with Karen and Jill for 90 minutes.  Sign up will be for ONE of the two days with assigned times for mock interview review (each contestant will receive a written review), Bring all clothing:  Evening Gown, Interview Suit, Swimsuit, speech will be given, any questions can be asked at this time.  Place TBA.

Thursday, August 16:30 start time. Contestants should be there at 6:00 – Fair Family Dinner Georgetown Fairgrounds – Parents, Grandparents, Siblings invited to attend.  Arrive 6:00 and go to the back right corner of the building.  Tables on the back wall are reserved for Queen Contestants and their families.  Wear pageant T-shirt with jeans (not ripped, no holes, no leggings that look like jeans and not too tight.  This is an important evening where you will meet Fair Board Members and it will your first time speaking as a contestant of the Georgetown Fair Pageant!  PLEASE PLAN ON ATTENDING!!                                                                                                          Practice on stage immediately after dinner – Guests may stay and watch but no videoing please. –

Saturday – August 3 – 9:00 – 12:00 noon MANDATORY PAGEANT PRACTICE!!!!!!!  Complete run through of the pageant with the MC’s!  This is a very important practice for EVERYONE!!!  DO NOT MISS!!!!!  Donuts for breakfast and pizza for lunch.   Bring all shoes and be ready to practice!  It is a long morning but we need to run through the whole pageant!  Listen and follow directions!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             

Sunday – August 4 – Walk Through The Fair  1:30 – This is a fun afternoon of walking through the barns, each contestant introducing herself in the Swine Barn, washing a cow, walking through the Home Ec Buildings. You get to ask questions, learn about the fairgrounds, and enjoy the behind the scenes of Queen life!!  If parent/guardian accompanies for pictures, they must walk behind as the contestants will walk as a group.                              Wear T-shirt provided, jeans, boots if possible.                                                                                    

Sunday – August 4 – 4:00 – Ice Cream Social after the walk though the Fair – Contestants will serve ice cream/brownies.               

Monday, August 5 – 6:00 Pageant – Contestants must be in trailer by 5:30. Interview time will be decided after we have a number of contestants.
