After obtaining her Bachelor of Education degree, Chelsea will pursue her master’s degree in Education Administration. It is Chelsea’s ambition in the near future to study abroad.
After earning her master’s degree she hopes to begin her career in education abroad by teaching English as a second language. When she returns to the states she plans on becoming a high school English teacher. When her career is well established she would like to acquire the status of Guidance Counselor or Principal.
This year Chelsea became a sister of the Sigma Kappa Sorority. As a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority she has been elected to the Executive Board as Vice President of Alumnae Relations. When the Greek Awards were given in March of 2010, Chelsea was honored with the Trailblazer Award. This award is given to a new member of greek life that has taken on leadership roles and is going above and beyond for their chapter and greek life as a whole!
You will also find Chelsea working at Michelle’s Bridal/M2 on weekends and holidays.
Queen Chelsea sponsors a child in India named Gracey Singh. This came about during the summer of 2008 when she attended Ichthus with the Cometland Youth Group. There was a Compassion International booth set up with photos of international children in need of a sponsor. Since that day she has made monthly contributions to the Singh family. Her contributions go towards food and shelter, but mostly schooling for Gracey. Her favorite part about her sponsorship is how she has the opportunity to have regular correspondence with Gracey. Along with the letters, she always draws pictures that she has saved over time. Over the next nine years that she will sponsor Gracey, she looks forward to seeing her learn and grow. In the midst of these remaining years, Chelsea would love to be able to meet her in person.
In high school Chelsea was the captain of her cheer squad, Student Council President, and Class secretary. She also was the Editorial Director of her school newspaper -”The Oakwood Times”. During the years was involved in many school clubs – National Honor Society, Europe Club, Compassion International, Appalachia Service Project, International Club, and the Biology Club. As you can see she was very busy as a volunteer and as a student with her four year High Honor Roll honors.
Queen Chelsea was not a stranger to the Georgetown Fair Pageant. This was her third year participating in the pageant. In previous pageants she has been a runner up, non-finalist in evening gown and received the directors award.
The Georgetown Fair Board, Pageant Crew and Directors Are very proud of our Queen Chelsea and her accomplishments!
