About Queen Desiree…..

Queen Desiree is a Senior at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a Double Major in Applied Communications Studies – Public Relations/Mass Communications and Media and Communications.  Previously, Queen Desiree was a Graduate of DACC acquiring an A.A.S. Associates Degree of Applied Science.

This past school year Queen Desiree worked at Jared’s, The Galleria of Jewelry. In the past she worked at Walgreen’s as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.

Skydiving, running, playing a harmonica, and the St. Louis Cardinals are a few of Queen Desiree’s interests. You can also add raising chickens (Esther, John Ross, Annie, Sue Ellen, and Sandy) that both her mother and sister enjoy doing together!

You will see Queen Desiree at a variety of events throughout the year! From rockin’ with the Danville Symphony Orchestra with “50 Years of Motown” to hostessing the Danville Symphony Orchestra Gala she loves this new event the Georgetown Fair Queen Pageant is blessed to attend.  Queen Desiree very much enjoyed being a Celebrity Reader for the Festival of Trees at the base of the 22 Foot Book Tree, “Walking A Mile in Her Shoes” for the Rape Crisis Center of Danville, and volunteering for the Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon.  A great Friday night was spent with our friends from CASA of Vermilion County a the Night At The Races and a wonderful Saturday morning judging the Mother Daughter Look Alike Contest for D102/ Neuhoff Broadcasting at the Village Mall just to name a few of the wonderful events Miss Georgetown Fair is asked to attend throughout the year!

Queen Desiree is also looking forward to spending time this Summer with her AMBUC friends playing baseball/helping with the AMBUCS Camp and starting her pageant season attending many County Fairs!

The last Saturday in June is a much anticipated event – the Miss Georgetown Fair Informational Meeting!  Then for the next month Queen Desiree will be joining the pageant crew and Directors as they prepare the contestants for the Georgetown Fair Pageant on Monday August 3rd!

So many events we are sure some have been forgotten!   You never know where you will see the Georgetown Fair Queen next!!
